Greater Buckeye Conference: “The girls team finished in 4th place in the GBC meet,” girls track coach Mark Gleason said. “After the regular season, we had injuries and and bad weather but I guess we finished about as well as we could.”
Tourney outlook: “Junior Kyesha Neal qualified (for state) in the shot put,” Gleason said. “Senior Holly Barton qualified for regionals and ended up placing 9th. The 4x800 relay team also qualified for regionals. The whole team overall finished 6th out of 12 teams.”
Outlook for next season: “Next season should be pretty successful,” senior Catie Huber said. “We had a lot of young talent , but now that the girls have more experience, next year should go really well.”
Overall season: “I am really proud of the girls,” Huber said. “We’ve definitely had to overcome some obstacles such as lower numbers and girls getting injured.
“But I am really impressed with all the hard work and good attitudes that the girls have had throughout the season. They just kept their heads up and focused on running their best.”
