Four students are organizing the Second Annual Comedy Night fundraiser April 2 at 7 p.m. in Central Auditorium.
Juniors Sid Hoover, Nolan Parker, Miranda Price and Brandon Shanahan are raising money to provide free lunches during the summer for underprivileged students.
“I volunteer there (Summer Food Service Program), and it’s nice to eat with the kids,” Hoover said. “It’s a good local cause and affects our classmates.”
The night will feature comedian Mike Green and local talent such as stand-up acts by Eddie Michaels and Nathan Kime and a performance from student band We are Chimera.
“We needed a big way to make enough money for the program, so we decided to look for comedians as something people would enjoy,” Price said. “We’re hoping for a good turnout.”
Tickets cost $10, with a discount price of $5 for students and staff, and are available in the athletic office and at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
