Two Blue & Gold staff members traveled to New York City for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Spring Convention where they received the Gold Crown in both newspaper and website.
Blue & Gold was one of only two programs in the nation that won two Gold Crowns.
"I was stunned that we won both Gold Crowns," editor-in-chief John Sisser said. "They are two of the biggest awards in the country, and to receive the Gold Crown in both categories was very exciting for the program."
There were also many individual winners: Sisser, feature editor Kim Maples, photo editor Taylor McGonnell, reporter Lydia Bauler, news editor Michaela Marincic, sports editor Lexi Perrault and video producer Jimmy Eckhardt all took home awards in various categories.
