Players to watch for: Seniors Brock Romantic, Caleb Joseph, junior Ian Frankenburg, sophomores Tyler Brown, Matt Waaland, Vance Settlemire and Devin Dennard
Predicted league champ: Fremont or Sandusky
Team strength: “Our greatest strength is our distance team,” junior Jimmy Roche said. “We have a deeply talented roster with runners coming from our successful cross country season. If any person were to be sick or unable to run for any given reason, there would be someone to take their place and be just as successful.”
Team goal: “The goal is to place as high as we can at the Greater Buckeye Conference (GBC),” coach Brian Rosendale said. “We also want to qualify as many individuals as possible to the state meet.”
Need to improve: “The area the team needs to improve most is in sprints and hurdling events,” Frankenburg said. “We don’t have a lot of depth in those areas, making them our weakest areas.”
GBC outlook: “If we stay healthy, we should be able to battle for one of the top three spots in the league,” Rosendale said. “But we have to defeat Napoleon to get in the top three.”
