Junior Statesmen of America (JSA), a political awareness group, will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament fundraiser Saturday, March 19 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Proceeds will help buy desks for the school JSA sponsors in Tanzania.

“A while back a JSA president decided that politics is not just about talking, but also about giving back,” president Maddie Herron said. “That’s why we started the Tanzania project.”

Students and faculty can pre-register their three-person teams by turning in one of the forms attached to the posters in the hallways, signing up in the cafeteria during lunch periods or at the door.

“JSA is a good organization, so I like to support their causes,” teacher Mark Laux, who will participate in the tournament, said. “It’s great to have fun and build a rapport with the students, but also to support an organization I believe in.”

Cost is $5 per player.
