Freshman Alex Harada will play violin in the Ohio Music Education Association’s All-State Orchestra Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. in Cincinnati, OH.

Harada is honored to be the high school’s only student in the orchestra.

“I’m representing my school and town, and I’m proud not only for myself but my school,” Harada said. “This will be something completely new for me, so I hope it will be good.”

Harada is the first freshman from this high school orchestra director Ken Pressel has seen accepted to the state ensemble.

“I’m excited for him, especially because he’s only a freshman,” Pressel said. “It’s prestigious to make this orchestra because you are competing with students from the whole state, and there are some good string programs in the bigger cities.”
